Leila da Costa, a native of São Paulo, holds a Master's degree in Linguistics from University of Michigan and is currently affiliated with the University of Miami, in Miami, Florida. Her research interests are linguistics, language teaching and Brazilian literature and culture. Special activities she likes to do include ballroom dancing, meditation and yoga. She likes to attend short story and poetry writing groups and also likes to participate in events and organizations related to the Brazilian community in Miami.  This year, Leila is in charge of Portuguese for Spanish speakers and a cultural module on the “African Faces of Brazil” in Middlebury.
