Moscow native Anna Rodionova began her career in film as a child. She studied acting at the Moscow Institute of Cinematography, graduated from a special screenwriting program and from the Gorky Literary Institute. She authored the screenplays for numerous well-known Russian movies and some 20 theater pieces. She has won international awards for her work She currently teaches Russian and is theater director at Washington and Lee University.
