Sofya Patenotte - I was born and raised in Moscow, where I got my Ph.D. in plant breeding from Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural University. However, I always loved languages and began to learn them at a very early age, starting with Latvian and English, then French and Polish, and finally Italian. It proved to be more than useful, since my work in agricultural business as a consultant involved traveling a lot around the world. I have been living in the US for the last 10 years with my family. I am currently working as an interpreter at the Language Bank in Concord, NH and teach Russian to St. Paul’s School’s students who have developed an interest in that language, as well as to people from the Concord community. I am involved in the Russian American Rule of Law Consortium that links the State of NH with Vologda. I am very excited about continuing tutoring participants of the Flagship program, as well as starting a new club in “Business Russian”. Our 7-year-old son speaks three languages and is very proud to be involved in both the French and Russian Schools.
