Mercedes Herrero
Mercedes Herrero
, originally from Spain, is a professional actor based in New York City. She earned a B.A. in Comparative Literature from the University of Virginia and her M.F.A. from the Yale School of Drama, where she received the Herschel Williams Acting Award. Ms Herrero has performed both classical and contemporary plays for over twenty years Off-Broadway, in regional theatres across the country, and in Madrid. She has worked with many contemporary playwrights including Tom Stoppard, Christopher Durang, A.R. Gurney, and Lynn Redgrave. She is a member of the Tectonic Theatre Project which originated the award-winning play The Laramie Project. Film and TV credits include: The Tao of Steve, The Tourist, and a bevy of lawyers on Law and Order. Ms Herrero taught Spanish at Georgetown Visitation in Washington D.C. and has been a Guest Artist at Yale University, New York University, Marymount College, and the 92nd Street Y.
