Jeffrey Cason  
Dean of International Programs
Jeffrey Cason (BA, Earlham College, 1984; Ph.D., University of Wisconsin-Madison, 1993) has been in the Political Science department at Middlebury since 1994. He has directed both the Latin American Studies and International Studies programs at Middlebury, and has lived and conducted research in a number of Latin American countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Perú, and Uruguay. He is co-author of Overseas Research: A Practical Guide (Johns Hopkins, 1997) and co-editor of Development at a Crossroads (Global Studies Program, University of Wisconsin, 1998) and Development and Democracy: New Perspectives on an Old Debate (UPNE, 2003). His research on Brazilian politics, Mercosur, and Uruguayan politics has appeared in numerous edited books and journals such as Current History, Latin American Politics and Society, Journal of Democracy, Polity, and Policy Studies Journal. He was appointed Dean of International Programs in 2006.



Liz Ross, Associate Director 
Liz Ross began working at Middlebury in 1997.  She earned her BA at Boston College (Romance Languages) and her Ed.M. from Boston University (TESOL). As an undergraduate, Liz studied abroad in Valencia, Spain.  Prior to coming to Middlebury, she worked at Boston University's Division of International Programs for 11 years. As Associate Director of International Programs and Off-Campus Study, Liz works on the administration of the Middlebury Schools Abroad. Her primary responsibilities also include publications, budgets, and office/staff management. In addition, she has played a central role in the Banner student module implementation.


Stacey Woody Thebodo, Assistant Director (non-Middlebury programs) 
Stacey Woody Thebodo received her BA in Psychology from Central College (1991) and a Master's of International Administration with a focus in International Education, from the School for International Training (1995). As an undergraduate Stacey studied abroad in Mexico and England and interned at a social services agency in London.  Prior to coming to Middlebury College in 1997, Stacey worked for the School for International Training for four years and was a Study Abroad Adviser at the University of Vermont for one year. Stacey is the author of several publications and articles on study abroad pre-departure orientation and cross-cultural re-entry and has presented at conferences on these and other study abroad-related subjects. As Assistant Director of International Programs and Off-Campus Study, Stacey advises students who participate in non-Middlebury study abroad programs. 


Nicole Chance, Coordinator (Middlebury Schools Abroad: Latin America and Spain)
Nicole Chance received her BA in English and Modern Foreign Languages and Literature from Kenyon College (1998) and a Master's in Higher Education Administration from Vanderbilt University (2000). As an undergraduate, Nicole studied abroad in Grenoble, France. From 2000 to 2002, she taught English at the University of Kankan in Guinea as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Nicole has worked at Middlebury College since 2003. As a Coordinator of International Programs and Off-Campus Study, Nicole acts as a liaison between study abroad students and Middlebury College's Schools Abroad in Latin America and Spain. 


Meghan Mason, Coordinator
(Middlebury Schools Abroad: France, Germany, and Italy)
Meghan earned a BA in International Studies from Miami University and studied abroad in Luxembourg. She received her MA in Higher Education and Student Affairs from The Ohio State University. At Ohio State, Meghan worked with the International Affairs Scholars and led study abroad programs to Turkey and Bulgaria. She also served as the Activities Coordinator for the University of Dreams in Hong Kong. As the newest Coordinator in International Programs and Off-Campus Study, Meghan works with students headed to France, Germany and Italy.


Bill Mayers, Coordinator
(Middlebury Schools Abroad: China, Egypt, and Russia)   
Bill earned a BA in Comparative Religion from Connecticut College after spending a year studying Arabic and Islam at the American University in Cairo. Several years later he set off again on an overland globe trek, but ultimately landed where he began, in Vermont. Bill earned an MA in Teaching History from the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire, and served as the Coordinator of Middlebury's Arabic School from 2004-2007. Bill now works with the C.V. Starr-Middlebury Schools Abroad in China, the Middle East, and Russia.


Terry Crouch,
University Relations Coordinator
Terry Crouch, New to the Office of International Programs and Off-Campus Study in May 2007, received a BA in French with a concentration in Latin American and Caribbean Area Studies from Wofford College (1998) and an MA in French from Middlebury College in 2007. He has worked in the fields of international education and international humanitarian work having spent nearly seven years with the Institute for the International Education of Students (IES) in Chicago,and most recently at the world headquarters of Rotary International. As University Relations Coordinator, Terry is responsible for recruiting and marketing for the C.V. Starr-Middlebury Schools Abroad and the Middlebury Language Schools.
