Undergraduates from other institutions are encouraged to contact their home financial aid and/or study abroad offices to ascertain whether they are eligible to receive federal, state, or institutional aid to attend the Schools Abroad.
Students studying abroad through the Schools Abroad graduate program are eligible to apply for aid through Middlebury College. Please visit the Language Schools' Financial Aid section for more information.
Scholarships
Freeman-ASIA Scholarships are available for students applying to programs in East and Southeast Asia. More information: www.iie.org/pgms/freeman-asia/.
The Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship provides awards for study abroad, for US citizens who are receiving a Federal Pell Grant at the time of application. More information: www.iie.org/gilman.
National Security Education Program (NSEP) Scholarships are available for students studying less commonly taught languages and area/international studies. See Off-Campus Study and www.iie.org/nsep/ for more information.
Rotary Foundation Scholarships are available for junior-year study abroad; however, applications for these have to be prepared nearly two years in advance. More information: www.rotary.org/foundation/educational/amb_scho.
Limited CET Academic Programs financial assistance is available for students from other colleges and universities (not from Middlebury). Each semester several thousands of dollars in scholarhships are awarded. Please visit CET-Academic Programs for further information.

German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
Open to full-time undergraduate students at US colleges and universities planning to study a summer, a semester or the academic year in Germany. Students must have at least junior standing. For more information on this undergraduate fellowship please contact DAAD: www.daad.org/
The 'Remembrance and Future' scholarship for students in Berlin This scholarship is designed to promote international understanding, the interests of survivors of the Nazi regime, student exchange, social justice, the reminder of the threat of totalitarian systems and tyranny, and the international cooperation in humanitarian matters. It is open to students from Middle and Eastern European countries, the GUS/CIS-States, Israel and the USA whose relatives were victims of the Nazi regime.
