University Information
La Universidad de La Rioja (ULR) is located in Logroño in the province of La Rioja. It was founded in 1992 and offers the up-to-date facilities and services of a modern university. The historic and linguistic traditions are vital since it is in this area that the Castilian language had its origins. "El Camino de Santiago," a religious pilgrimage route of great historic importance, also runs through this area. The first semester runs from September through February, and the second semester runs February through July.
The ULR offers all major academic disciplines. The majority of Middlebury College students find their classes in philology and other social sciences.
Up to ten students who have been accepted to the Middlebury School in Spain for the fall or spring semesters or the full year are eligible to attend, with the Director's approval.
