The ACLU-VT is a private nonprofit organization dedicated to the defense of individual rights guaranteed by the Bill of Rights and the Vermont Constitution. We deal with civil liberties cases that affect a number of people or that may set a legal precedent. We lobby in the Vermont Legislature to guard against encroachments on civil liberties, and we participate in public meetings and forums to explain our work and the issues we’re tracking.
