BARS is a volunteer ambulance squad serving the greater Brandon area. This is our third year utilizing Middlebury College students and incorporating them into our daily schedule. We respond 24 hours a day and welcome new EMTs to work with our local staff. Our new facilities offer sleeping accommodations, study areas, computer access, TV lounge, and kitchen.
Volunteers have found working in pre-hospital emergency medicine very rewarding. Dealing with patients on their worst day and making a difference is very gratifying. Many students with interest in medicine or travel in third world countries also found this experience very helpful.
