The Volunteer Connection, a partnership between RSVP and the United Way, is a placement service designed to provide volunteer opportunities for anyone under the age of 55. Volunteer Connection staff members provide personalized placement counseling and match volunteers with meaningful volunteer assignments. In Addison County alone, there are currently 484 volunteers who serve more than 23,000 hours annually at 111 local non-profits. The Volunteer Connection works collaboratively with Middlebury College’s Alliance for Civic Engagement, and has a huge database of volunteer opportunities. Come share your enthusiasm and reap the personal rewards that come from being involved, lending support to your neighbors, making new friends and helping local organizations that genuinely appreciate your support.

Some current volunteer needs include:
Friendly visitors in nursing homes, coaches, Spanish translators, clerical assistants, reading mentors, soccer coaches, Medicare BINGO and Jeopardy hosts, painters, knitters and crocheters, grant writers, child advocates, carpenters, volunteer drivers, food shelf assistants, receptionists, book shelvers, data entry assistants, tutors, museum tour guides, thrift shop assistants, bulk mailers, ushers, webmasters, gardeners, hotline advocates and many more!
