The Middlebury District office is the community public health office serving Addison County . The programs offered by the Vermont Department of Health are focused on disease prevention and health promotion. Some of the services offered include newborn and lead screening, immunizations, injury prevention, nutrition education, substance abuse prevention, women's health screening, and HIV education. While many public health services are available to the entire population of the county, some are targeted to women and young children with Medicaid health insurance or no health insurance.
We need volunteers to work on special events that provide nutrition education; help monitor reportable infectious diseases; participate in various outreach efforts; and assist with a community safety day event.
