Hunger and Homelessness Awareness at Middlebury

Extreme poverty affects 1.2 billion people worldwide. In Vermont, 10.4 % of the population cannot meet basic needs with their current living wage.

Get involved:

Oxfam Style Hunger Banquet
March 9th, 2-4 p.m, Upper Redfield Proctor
A Hunger Banquet gives you a chance to learn about hunger from the point of view of those who experience it every day. 15% of the people get a role in the high income group, 25% of the people get a role in the middle income group, 60% of the attendees sit on the floor and represent the low income group. For one meal, participants simulate the world poverty situation.
