Both Halloween service events this weekend were an overwhelming success!
Six of Middlebury’s Social Houses combined to carve 75 pumpkins for Helen Porter Nursing Home. According to organizers, the number of jack-o-lanterns on display for the residents was over 600! Helen Porter residents and the general public viewed the display on October 30th. A big thank you to all who were involved!
On Halloween night, 20 Middlebury students traveled to Buttolph Acres to Trick-or-Treat for canned goods. The spirited group included Elton John, a princess, a clown, a cat, Waldo and a nun. Despite less than ideal trick-or-treating weather, the group collected over 300 non-perishable food items for donation to HOPE (Helping Overcome Poverty’s Effects).
