E M I L Y L E E
is a senior double major in Studio Art and Buddhist Studies from Burlington, Vermont. She has always loved drawing and painting, particularly in her four years at Middlebury. She spent a semester in the painting department at the Slade School of Fine Art in London, and has spent the 2006-2007 year at Middlebury oil painting as well.
The piece shown here is a detail from a self-portrait, one painting in a series dealing with fetishism, constriction, flesh, and mutilation of the human body.
