Sculpture students have been asked to create a sculpture in the form of a chair, based on the idea of a chair as an object of design for human use for support or comfort, as a socializing or civilizing device, as an object used in a ceremony or as a historical artifact. Students have personalized the concept of a chair while emphasizing its sculptural potential in both utilitarian and non-utilitarian forms.
