Speeding up Google and the Web
Bryan McQuade '02

Cambridge, MA
Google's search engine is known for being fast. But what can we do to make it faster?
This talk will explore some of the ways we can speed up web browsing, especially for users on slow connections. In particular, we will look at a technique that reduces the overhead of redundant data between web pages. We will cover the client and server side changes required to support this technique, and investigate some of the algorithms and data structures used.
