Caitlin Knowles Myers joined the Economics faculty as an assistant professor in the fall of 2005. She teaches courses in statistics, regression, labor economics, urban economics, and the economics of discrimination.

She received her PhD from the University of Texas at Austin where she studied under Daniel Hamermesh. Her dissertation, which received an honorable mention in the 2006 Upjohn Dissertation Award, focused on discrimination in housing and labor markets. Her research interests continue to include inequality in the marketplace, but have also branched out to include issues related to time use, family leave policy, and incentives for pro-social behaviors. Her work has been published in the Journal of Labor Economics, the Industrial and Labor Relations Review, the Journal of Urban Economics, The B.E. Journal of Economic Analysis and Policy, Applied Economics, Experimental Economics, and the National Bureau of Economics Research Working Papers series. Her work also has appeared in the popular media such as Slate.com, The Financial Times, NPR, and MSNBC.

Prior to venturing north of the Mason-Dixon line, Caitlin lived in West Virginia, Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas. Her household includes her husband, son, and an ever-growing flock of chickens.
