The 2008 NEES meeting will be held at the Bread Loaf campus of Middlebury College, home to the Bread Loaf School of English and the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference. The facilities are quite nice, neither exactly rustic nor exactly posh. Accommodation for two nights at Bread Loaf is included in the $40 per person registration fee.
Rooms come in a variety of styles—both doubles and singles, most with shared bathrooms—so please indicate what kind of room you would like on your registration form. Be aware, though, that there is not an unlimited supply of each kind of room. Therefore, the sooner you register, the more likely it is that your choice can be accommodated. If I cannot accommodate your selection, I will contact you about alternatives.
If you request a double room and have a specific roommate in mind, please note that on your registration form.
Guests (such as spouses and partners) are welcome but please make note of their attendance on your registration form.
Almost all events will be held at the Bread Loaf campus, and therefore I encourage you to take advantage of the accommodations there. If, however, you wish to make your own arrangements and stay elsewhere, please realize that late September is the start of our region’s fall tourist season and accommodations at inns and hotels fill quickly. For a complete list of potential options, I recommend using the “Find Businesses” option on Google Maps, specifying “lodging” and “Ripton, VT.”
