Degrees, Specializations & Interests:
Ph.D. Soil, Water and Environmental Science with Analytical Chemistry Minor; University of Arizona, Tucson, 2001.
B.S. with Distinction, Chemistry and German Literature; University of Wisconsin, Madison, 1996.
Non-degree, German Language and Literature; Albert Ludwig University, Freiburg, Germany; 1994 – 1995.

Molly Costanza-Robinson arrived at Middlebury College in 2005. Previously, she held postdoctoral and teaching positions at Northern Arizona University (Flagstaff, AZ) Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry. Important undergraduate experiences include studying abroad in Germany and working at Argonne National Laboratory's Environmental Research Division.

Research interests include the transport and retention of organic contaminants in the subsurface environment. Most recently, she has been using synchrotron x-ray microtomography at Argonne National Laboratory’s Advanced Photon Source to investigate the morphology and magnitude of the air-water interface in wetted soils, an important physical domain in soils that adsorbs organic contaminants.

Current courses taught are:
ENVS 0112 Natural Science & the Environment
ENVS/CHEM 0170 Chemistry in the Environment
ENVS 0401 Environmental Studies Senior Seminar
2006: Pest Control Issues in VT
    2008: Sustainability & Transportation
CHEM 311 Instrumental Analysis Laboratory
