Coulter LS230A laser diffraction particle size analyzer
The particle size analyzer is an instrument capable of simultaneously analyzing particle size of suspended powders over the range 0.04 mm to 2 mm. It is currently being used in geology and environmental science courses and research to assess problems such as porosity and permeability, infiltration rates, chemical reactivity of solid phases, stratigraphic correlation, depositional mechanisms, and sample separation.
Purchased through an NSF-CCLI grant in 1999 under the supervision of Peter Ryan.
