Middlebury College offers three awards for Middlebury geology majors:

  • The John M. White '52 Research Fellowship: Awarded annually to the rising senior who has been selected to participate in collaborative research with Middlebury faculty in geology
  • The Baldwin/Coney Scholarship: Awarded to offset the cost of attending field camp
  • The John M. White '52 Memorial Award: Given each year at graduation to an exemplary geology senior

    In addition, there are funds available from outside organizations to support research and travel to professional meetings:

  • Vermont Geological Society: Research grants
  • Lake Champlain Research Consortium: Research grants
  • Geological Society of America: Research and travel grants
