Jimena Ugaz received her Ph.D. in Contemporary Latin American Literature from the University of Colorado at Boulder’s Department of Spanish and Portuguese in 2005. Her dissertation, “Crimen y textualidad: la novela policial latinoamericana en el cambio de siglo”, was written under the direction of professor Peter M. Elmore.
Jimena teaches grammar classes at the 100 and 200 level, as well as upper division courses on literature and culture. Her main areas of interest are Crime Fiction, Popular Culture, Andean Literature, and the Postmodern Novel in general.
