Random Digits: A list of a million random digits contains the digits 0, 1, … ,9 in random order (and can have three 2's in a row, for example). How far do you expect to go down the list (on average) until you finally have obtained each of the 10 digits?
Submit written solution with justification to John Emerson, Warner 312, before 3:00 on Tuesday, December 6. Or leave them in the Warner mailroom.
Note: Join us at the weekly seminars, usually on Tuesday at 3:00 for refreshments.
