"Mathematics of Fire Safety"
What is fire? What is fire safety? These and related questions will be addressed in terms of various aspects of mathematics that have been applied to problems in this area. We will look at uses of geometry, algebra, calculus, probability, and Boolean logic. Demonstrations of computational fluid dynamics to the analysis of fires such as the World Trade Center.
