The world wide web can provide fresh, interesting, real data. For example, http://goldsheet.com provides past scores and gambling point spreads for every Division I game since the '95-96 season. We will scrape raw data directly from the web page, clean it up, and use exploratory data analysis and linear regression to identify gambling opportunities. Are you skeptical? Does this sound too good to be true? Come and find out!
