Anne has been teaching flute at Middlebury College since 1984. She also is on the music faculty at the University of Vermont. She is a member of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, the Vermont Mozart Festival Orchestra, and Quintette a Vent, a woodwind ensemble which has performed throughout Vermont and in New York State. Formerly the principal flute of the Plattsburgh Symphony Orchestra, she has played with Opera North and the Vermont Contemporary Ensemble and regularly plays with the Lyric Theatre Orchestra.
One of Anne's most rewarding experiences came as a student at the Hartt School of Music, where she performed with the Emerson String Quartet. Her collaboration with the members of the Ellen Powell trio featured performances of Claude Bolling's Suites Nos. 1 and 2 for Flute and Jazz Trio in Vermont and Massachusetts. Anne received music degrees from Hartt and the Manhattan School of Music. Her principal teachers have been John Wion, Thomas Nyfenger, and Timothy Hutchins, principal flute of the Montréal Symphony Orchestra. She also has studied with Samuel Baron and Jeanne Baxtresser.
