The purpose of the organization is to provide an intellectual and social atmoshpere in which to discuss issues pertaining to psychology, to provide programs and information concerning graduate schools, to create a setting where students can present their research.

Constitution of Middlebury Psychology Club
Article I: Name
The name of this organization shall be the Middlebury Psychology Club.
Article II: Purpose
The purpose of the organization is as follows:
1. to provide an intellectual and social atmosphere in which to discuss issues pertaining to psychology
2. to provide programs and information concerning graduate schools and careers in psychology
3. to create a setting where students can present their research
4. to support student initiatives to attend Psychology conferences
5. to strengthen the presence of Psychology on our campus by sponsoring guest lectures and psychology related films
Article III: Membership
Membership is open to all members of the Middlebury College community.
Article IV: Coordinators
Coordinator positions will be open to any member of the club who is also a Middlebury College student.
Six coordinators (facilitator, event coordinator, social coordinator, publicity coordinator, technical coordinator, and financial coordinator) will be elected each year, and must fulfill the following duties:
Facilitator:
- to plan an agenda for each meeting and initiate discussion
- to take minutes at each meeting
- to serve as a liaison with Student Activities
Event Coordinator:
- to oversee programs concerning graduate schools
- to oversee programs concerning careers in psychology
- to coordinate guest lectures and conferences
Social Coordinator:
- to promote interaction between psychology faculty and students
- to coordinate events in which psychology issues can be discussed (department gatherings, movies, etc.)
Publicity Coordinator:
- to notify members of upcoming meetings
- to coordinate the advertising of events.
Technical Coordinator:
- to update the Psychology Club webpage
Financial Coordinator:
- to keep accurate records of finances and report any changes at meetings
- to help design a budget
- to act as a liaison with the SGA Finance Committee
Article V: Elections
Coordinators will be elected by a simple majority prior to March 15. At least 50% of the club's members must be present for an election to take place. If a position becomes vacant for any reason, a special election may be called by any coordinator.
Article VI: Meetings
Meetings should be held bi-monthly, or when the coordinators deem one necessary. Special meetings may be called by any coordinator.
Article VII: Committees
The coordinators will work together to develop the appropriate committees for each major event.
Article VIII: Faculty Advisor
The membership recommends a member of faculty/staff to advise the organization.
Article IX: Ratification
A. The constitution must be ratified by a two-thirds majority of the membership.
B. The constitution must be approved by the Student Government Constitution Committee.
Article IX: Amendment
A. The constitution must be ratified by a two-thirds majority of the membership.
B. The constitution must be approved by the Student Government Constitution Committee.
