Alicia (Chela) Andreu-Sprigg completed her Ph.D. at the University of Oregon. Among her many teaching and research interests are 19th- and 20th-century Spanish literature, testimonial narratives of Latin America, fascism and literature, and Spanish women writers.
She is the author of "Galdos y la literatura popular," "La Cruz del Olivar por Faustina Sáez de Melgar," "Modelos Dialógicos en Galdós," and "El testimonio peruano oral y las ciencias sociales: Una problemática postmoderna." She has also written on indigenous literature, Peruvian poetry and Mario Vargas Llosa. Currently she is working on a book on Spanish fascist women writers.
