Theatre Program Catalog Listing   | Course/Exam Schedule

The study of theatre at Middlebury proceeds from a multi-faceted examination of the theatrical text. Rigorous analysis and sophisticated understanding of a play in specifically three-dimensional terms (the theatrical event) provides the basis for the study of acting, directing, design, playwriting, history, and aesthetics. Students who elect the theatre major will study across the curriculum, ultimately selecting an area of focus that will sufficiently prepare them to undertake independent senior work.
