Stepping Up
Middlebury scholar in residence Bill McKibben has been receiving a great deal of national attention for his efforts in raising awareness of climate change.
McKibben has partnered with a host of Middlebury students and recent graduates to organize rallies "Step It Up 2007" around the country commemorating a national day of climate action.

Katz is one of only eight fellows nationwide selected by the Roosevelt Institution, which was founded at Stanford University and is now based in Washington, D.C. During her fellowship, Katz will focus her research on reducing the country's dependence on fossil fuels.
Literary Lectures
Though it doesn't feel like spring yet here at Middlebury, spring has officially arrived and with it brings a wealth of fascinating lectures by literary luminaries on campus.
On tap for the coming weeks: readings by writers Dave Eggers and Vendela Vida '93; a lecture on environmental affairs by National Book Award-winner Barry Lopez; and a lecture by Jared Diamond, author of Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed.
