Diane Foley is assistant to the vice president of communications and works with the entire communications department. Before coming to Middlebury College she was administrative assistant to the president of the Salzburg Seminar, based in Middlebury, Vermont and Salzburg, Austria.
A native of Massachusetts, Diane worked for Boston Whaler, Inc., a premier boat manufacturer, in their offices in Rockland, Massachusetts and New Smyrna Beach, Florida. In the course of seventeen years with the company, she was assistant to the president, customer service representative, and marketing coordinator working on catalog photo shoots on Sanibel Island, Florida. Before working at Boston Whaler, she and her husband, Len, owned and operated a small restaurant in Pembroke, Massachusetts. Diane attended Daytona Beach Community College and Aquinas Junior College Business School in Milton, Massachusetts. An active member of St. Mary's parish in Brandon, she and Len are Eucharistic ministers.
Her excellent organization skills have already earned her a reputation at Middlebury, and when she isn't rearranging furniture or moving files, she can be found in her herb, flower, and vegetable gardens at home. A proud mother of five and grandmother of two, Diane enjoys traveling to visit her children, vacationing in Europe, and, closer to home, making the rounds of flea markets and tag sales. She and Len live in a large, 125-year-old home that is a work in progress.
