Sarah RaySarah Ray joined the Middlebury College public affairs office in 1997. At Middlebury, she helps lead the public affairs office's effort to gain favorable media coverage for the college by finding interesting stories about Middlebury students, faculty and staff and communicating them to reporters. Sarah has worked in the field of public relations for 17 years.

She began her career in advertising in New York City. Later she developed an interest in publicity when she moved into the book publishing industry, where she worked at Doubleday and Scribner's, and promoted books and authors ranging from Sydney Biddle Barrows to Barbara Bush. After moving from New York to Vermont, Sarah plunged into the corporate world as manager of public relations for Bruegger's, a chain of bagel bakeries.

A graduate of Middlebury, Sarah lives with her family in Shelburne.
