Major responsibilities: Employer outreach and development, Coordinates undergraduate, summer language school recruiting activities, and manages off-campus consortia programs.
Theresa began her career at Middlebury College in 2000 and joined Career Services in 2002. Theresa’s professional background spans 25 years of consumer services, event management, sales, and communications.
Mary Hurlie
Associate Director for Alumni Career Services
Liaison: alumni; all career fields
Major responsibilities: Builds and manages career services and programming for alumni of all Middlebury-affiliated programs. Designs career development workshops and online resources for alumni at all career stages: young alumni newly entering professional life, as well as experienced professionals or older career transitioners. Develops on-site and web/online access to CSO career resources for alumni. Provides individual career counseling for alumni, by phone or in-person.
Mary’s professional career spans thirty years in the fields of organization development, human resources management and corporate training. Prior to joining Career Services, Mary held administrative positions with the College and previously operated a private consulting firm specializing in leadership development, executive coaching, and organization effectiveness in the for-profit sector. For several years, she also held HR management positions in the manufacturing and healthcare industries, and taught undergraduate management courses as a part-time adjunct faculty member at two Vermont colleges.
Mary holds a BA in English / Education, and an MS in Administration & Organization Development.
Tracy Himmel Isham
Assistant Director for Career Services

Major Responsibilities: Strategic marketing of CSO programs and services, event planning, Careers in the Common Good program development, career development Workshops, Career Conversations, Peer Career Advisor (PCA) program, career counseling
Most recently, Tracy has worked at Middlebury College as an interim international student advisor, as the coordinator of international student records, and the director of programs for DigitalBridges2.0. Tracy brings broad experience from both non-profit and for-profit business management, strategic planning, marketing, budgeting, and evaluation. She worked for fourteen years in the forest products industry and environmental sector. She was the Executive Director of the American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC), the leading international trade association for the American hardwood industry in Washington, DC. While at AHEC, Tracy designed and implemented major international market development and promotion campaigns in conjunction with the USDA-Foreign Agricultural Service. She developed research goals and strategy for the wood products industry's six overseas offices. Upon moving to Vermont, she was the director of business development for an internet B2B website focused on sustainable forest products and later became the marketing manager for the New York-based Rainforest Alliance SmartWood Program.
Ştephen Kiel
Technology Coördinator
Major Responsibilities: Technology implementation management, support, counseling, and consulting; website, database, and media administration.
Stephen joined CSO with a background in web design, network scripting, database management, and a comparative literature A.B. from Harvard University.
Donald Kjelleren
Senior Associate Director
Career Directions: Business, Consulting, Finance, and Federal Government
Liaisons: Economics, History, Political Science, IPE, Student Investment Committee, MIDDCORE
Major responsibilities: Strategic oversight of employer recruiting program, the Senior Program for development of job preparation skills, assessments, career counseling and staff management. Don organizes Senior, Finance, and Consulting Weeks as well as runs a year long transitions to the real world program. He serves on the Counseling Center’s Advisory Board and has for many years been the Vice President of the Vermont Association of Psychological Type.
Prior to coming to Career Services, Don worked in the Consumer Food, Advertising and Retail industries. He earned a BA from Dickinson College in Economics and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in marketing from Katz Graduate School of Management at the University of Pittsburgh.
Janine McDonald
Office Manager
Major Responsibilities: Office management and budget oversight.
Janine attended St. Bonaventure University before transferring to the University of Florida, where she received a B.S. in Journalism. She was employed by the television industries in Los Angeles; CBS sports department and NBC post-production. She was assistant film editor at a Los Angeles independent film company, while freelance writing. She moved to Boston to experience a career change, becoming employed by the finance industry. Upon moving to rural Vermont, she worked in newspaper advertising before joining the college.
Tim Mosehauer
Career Counselor/Resource Coördinator
Career Directions: Communications and Media
Major Responsibilities: Career counseling, resource management of physical books and online career library, peer career advisors, and newsletters.
Tim joined CSO in the summer of 2007 and comes with a rich background in student affairs. Starting from his days as an undergrad at William and Mary in Virginia, continuing through a year as an Americorps VISTA, and into his days as a grad student at Boston College and beyond, Tim brings energy and enthusiasm to all that he does. Tim worked in Boston for 8 years in a variety of capacities at different universities in career services, academic advising, first year orientation planning, student activities and community service/service learning.
Becky Pidgeon
Employee Relations Coördinator
Major responsibilities: Manages MOJO (Middlebury College Online Job Opportunities), primary contact for scheduling, sends marketing materials to students and handles all related MOJO questions. Handles employer interview schedules & many aspects of the on campus process.
Becky joined CSO in the fall of 2008 with a background in Investment Banking. She has a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of New Hampshire at Plymouth, where she also minored in Mathematics. After working as a Business Manager for an Investment Bank in Charlotte, North Carolina for 10 years, Becky has returned to her native vermont and joined Middlebury's Career Services Office.
Jaye Roseborough
Executive Director
Career Directions: Bio-sciences and Humanities
Liaisons: Religion, Psychology, Neuroscience, Molecular Biology & Biochemistry, Biology, First Year Seminar, Middlebury College Open Queer Alliance (moqa) and the Student Government Association (SGA).
Major responsibilities: Strategic planning, overall office management, external relations, counseling.
Jaye has over 30 years as a professional in the Career Services field both in higher education and the private sector. Before coming to Middlebury in January of 2000, Jaye directed the Alumnae Career Services program at the Center for Work and Service at Wellesley College in Boston. In the seventeen years prior to that she owned and managed her own career consulting firm specializing in career change counseling and consulting with organizations on projects including outplacement, hiring the right employees, management development and career pathing. After completing her Master's in counseling at Central Connecticut University, Jaye was the Director of the Career Development Center at the University of Hartford from 1976 to 1980. Her first years after completing her undergraduate studies with a bachelor's in English and Biology from the University of Kentucky in Lexington were spent working for the American Red Cross in South Viet Nam and teaching junior high school science in Kentucky. Jaye is regularly called upon to advise other selective liberal arts colleges about developing effective four-year career development programs at their institutions. She has both presented at national conferences and published regarding building successful relationships between career services and faculty.
Carrie Roy
Internship Programs Coördinator
Major Responsibilities: Coordination of funded and Winter Term programs; management of Sophomore Externships; support for first to third year programs.
An experiential educator by trade, Carrie has taught in a variety of settings--in the classroom, on a ropes course, and in the middle of the savannah. She has a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources from the University of Vermont and a Master's of Education from St. Michael's College. After teaching high school biology for four and half years, Carrie joined Middlebury's Career Services Office in the fall of 2008.
Susan Walker
Associate Director
Career Directions: the Arts
Liaisons: Art, Music, Theatre/Dance, and the Writing Program
Major responsibilities: Program development for strategic internship initiatives (such as the Externships program), Middlebury-only internships, and career counseling.
A corporate outplacement consultant in New York City for seven years before moving to Vermont in 1986, Susan has worked in the fields of publishing and direct marketing, and most recently taught English as a Second Language and English Composition at the University of Vermont, Champlain College and St. Michael's College. Susan has a B.A. from Bryn Mawr College, a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from the University of Massachusetts, and a Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second Language from St. Michael's College. Susan's daughter is a member of the class of 2006.
