Workshop: Networking 101 – More than half of all job openings are never publicized.  In this workshop you'll learn how to find hidden jobs, make friends and have fun all at the same time. Check the CSO Calendar for upcoming presentations.

Workshop: Resume and Cover Letter Basics – Learn how to write effective resumes and cover letters in this workshop. First-years and sophomores are especially encouraged to attend. Check the CSO Calendar for upcoming presentations.

Practice Interviews – Clammy hands, blank stares and Freudian slips: these are the hallmarks of many a first interview. So why not make it a fake one? Just call us for an appointment, send in your application materials, and don't worry about those sweaty palms.

Online Resources

MOJO – In case you haven't heard, MOJO is Middlebury's online job and internship bank. Search thousands of jobs and internships all over the world, and check the calendar for upcoming resume collections and special events. Apply for jobs without leaving the comfort of your room! (You will, however, have to get off your buttinski for the interview.)

MiddNet Online – Almost 7,000 alumni have signed up to help you with career questions, and they're all waiting for you on MiddNet. Search the database by industry, undergraduate major, geographic location, class year, highest degree, employer name, position title, or keyword. Write a brief e-mail, ask a few questions, and you're networking before you know it!

CareerSearch – CareerSearch is a database of nearly 3 million employers, designed specifically for the job-hungry college student. Search for employers by geographic region, industry, or keyword—every sort of organization, from the biggest to the smallest, is listed with contact information, names of key personnel, financial statistics and a description of its activities. Searches can be saved and records can be downloaded and printed in a variety of formats.

Vault.com - Vault provides some of the most powerful career, industry and company research tools on the Web. The comprehensive profiles and guides produced by Vault are available for download as Adobe Acrobat files, and would cost big bucks if we hadn't worked the angles on your behalf. Don't forget to check the company-specific message boards for honest views (and rants) from the other side. Please go to the Password Information Page in order to gain access to this site.

Idealist.org – The premiere Web site for people who want to make a living and a difference at the same time. Offers resource guides, salary surveys, fellowship information and, of course, a huge database of jobs and internships.

WetFeet.com  – The Wetfeet Career Research Center offers a wide variety of company and industry profiles for purchase, and provides some good free content, as well.  The free stuff includes "Real People Profiles" in which real people share their experiences in the world of work.

The Virtual Career Library - Our Virtual Career Library complements our hard-copy collection with up-to-the-minute, industry-specific Web sites, job and internship listings, on-line career guides, and much more. The hundreds of links are grouped according to industry, so you can find what you need in a jiffy.

Going Global - An international internship and employment guide to search and explore the possibility of working in a specific foreign country.

NACElink
– A job database produced by the National Association of Colleges and Employers. Similar to MOJO, and growing.

Call To Serve – A clearinghouse for U.S. government jobs and internships produced by the Partnership for Public Service. If you feel called to public service, this is the Web site for you.

Showcase of Vermont Employers – The latest contact information for the most recognizable Vermont employers in a wide range of industries.

MonsterTRAK – A commercial site offering job listings, career advice and the Major to Career Converter.
