    Job Description:  GMMB is hiring Outreach Ambassadors centrally located in Burlington and Rutland to work as part-time or full-time Vermont field organizers for the Green Mountain Care outreach and marketing campaign. Green Mountain Care is the state of Vermont’s family of low-cost and free health coverage programs including Catamount Health, Dr. Dynasaur, Employer-Sponsored Insurance Premium Assistance, Medicaid, VHAP and Prescription Assistance. The campaign reaches out to uninsured Vermonters with important information about these programs.

    GMMB, the communications firm responsible for marketing Green Mountain Care, is hiring Outreach Ambassadors for a temporary period of approximately two months beginning on or about September 2, 2008. Outreach Ambassadors will be responsible for promoting Green Mountain Care at community gatherings including, but not limited to, business functions, community meetings, concerts, fairs, and school and university events. Planned outreach activities will engage uninsured Vermonters (with an emphasis on 18- to 34-year olds) by reaching them where they live, work and play.

    Qualified applicants should:
    • Be outgoing, enthusiastic, professional and proactive;
    • Have strong communication and organizational skills;

    Job Description: Harvard Medical School and Partners HealthCare (parent company of Mass. (HPCGG laboratories include those skilled in the analysis of DNA and proteins.)  Our work supports the goals of personalized medicine (prescribing a particular drug/therapy based on a patient's genetic profile) and translational medicine (brining scientific breakthroughs from the laboratory to patient care as quickly as possible). HPCGG spans the fields of healthcare and research.  We provide testing and analysis services to both the medical community and clinical/scientific researchers.

    The successful candidate will work with the Laboratory for Molecular Medicine (LMM) implementing molecular biology techniques, analysis of sequencing data used in diagnosis of patients, and ultimately take home an intimate understanding of how a molecular clinical diagnostic laboratory operates.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    The Molecular Diagnostic Technician I, in coordination with senior laboratory members will organize and perform routine laboratory tests including but not limited to:

    1) Extract and quantify DNA from blood and other tissue samples.
    2) Perform gel electrophoresis and other techniques to analyze DNA and RNA products.
    3) Perform PCR and DNA sequencing reactions.
    4) Use robotics to perform repetitive laboratory techniques.
    5) Learn how to use new instruments and implement their use in new tests.
    6) Participate in lab meetings and generate ideas for improving efficiency and productivity in the lab’s operations.
    7) Optimize diagnostic tests and update existing standard operating protocols with significant guidance.

This position reports to the Associate Director of Career Services and works closely with the Assistant Director for Internships.     Manager will be responsible, with the Managing Director, for developing and implementing Yellow Barn’s annual fundraising and marketing campaigns.

    Yellow Barn Music School & Festival, based in Putney, Vermont, is an internationally respected chamber music training program with renowned faculty, innovative programming, and extraordinary participants, under the artistic direction of Seth Knopp.  This combination of faculty, programming, and participants has brought the program wide acclaim.  Yellow Barn runs two training programs each year, for Young Artists aged 13 – 19 and for young professionals who join us for the five week Festival each summer.

    2.  Create process to ensure athletes who live in regions without established Paralympic ski
    training programs are provided with opportunities for learning, training and competing to
    become internationally competitive.
    3.  Provide athletes, coaches and adaptive ski  programs with comprehensive, high quality
    educational materials to support the Paralympic Skiing movement, and ultimately put
    athletes on the U. S. National Team.
    4.  Take leadership role in the Paralympic sport community and promote skiing for purposes
    of recruitment and retention of future athletes.  
    5.  Prepare and distribute monthly newsletter to athletes, coaches and adaptive ski programs.
    6.  Respond in an accurate and timely fashion to inquiries pertaining to Paralympic skiing.
    7.  Measure program success by performing yearly audit of educational initiatives undertaken
    by other disabled sports.
    8.  Coordinate with other Paralympic outreach organization initiatives to gather and share
    information about their involvement and success in recruiting new athletes, coaches and
    adaptive ski instructors and promoting Paralympic Sport.
