Legal Assistant: We are seeking applicants with strong academic records, a demonstrated interest in international affairs, the ability to prioritize and work independently, and excellent interpersonal, foreign language (particularly French, German and/or Russian) and organizational skills. Legal assistants in the New York office are assigned to specific work groups; however, they have the opportunity to work with other groups depending upon workload. Legal assistants work directly with partners and associates in a team environment. The primary role of this corporate legal assistant will be to assist the current Executive Chairman of the Firm, a Senior Partner in the New York office, with a wide range of assignments relating to his extensive global practice. These tasks include preparing, proofreading and in some cases translating legal documents; participating in client meetings; organizing closing documents for various project finance transactions; forming corporations, filing corporate documents and maintaining company records; overseeing tax payments and bank transfers; and performing general legal research as needed.
