IP&E majors have successfully pursued a wide range of positions after graduation: from working as a Foreign Service Officer at the State Department to working for a private think tank or a law firm.
Dewey Balantine: Legal Assistant
Following established guidelines, gathers, prepares, summarizes relevant materials for use by attorneys in preparation of opinions, briefs and other legal documents. Summarizes depositions and other transcripts. Maintains case files. Performs simple legal research. Indexes, tracks, and controls exhibits and other materials at depositions and at trial. Assists attorneys in the courtroom. Prepares exhibit cross-references. Screens documents for relevance and privilege according to established guidelines and criteria. Performs initial compilation of documents for production requests, subject to review by supervisors and trial staff work. Performs database searches and retrieves and compile relevant documents for witness binders.
International Research: International Legal Researcher
Research international and US Laws, treaties, conventions and regulations pertinent to international business and intellectual property issues. Prepare research memoranda and legal documents. Research issues involving the Hauge International Convention and any other International treaties related to intellectual property and business law. International Human Rights Law Group, Washington (DC)
The International Human Rights Law Group is a nonprofit organization of human rights and legal professionals engaged in human rights advocacy, litigation and training around the world. Their mission is to help empower advocates to expand the scope of human rights protection for men and women and to promote broad participation in creating more effective human rights standards and procedures.
Global Policy Forum, New York (NY)
GPF monitors the United Nations and related public policy institutions. Interns can be involved in the following areas: the U.N. Financial Crises, the U.N. Security Council or the U.N. Social and Economic Policy Making as well as NGOs, globalization and global taxes.

English teacher intern: 1 semester, renewable (with approval from the school) in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Petrozavodsk and other Russian and Ukranian cities.
