Government Programs Specialist
In this position you will be assisting with application completion/enrollment (Child Health Plus, Family Health Plus and Medicaid) for initial enrollment or recertification, confirming eligibility requirements have been met prior to initiating enrollment, informing enrollee of policies, program guidelines and of managed care basics; gathering and maintaining appropriate enrollment documentation. Responsibilities also include answering all questions pertaining to enrollment options, disenrollment, and changes to enrollment; participating in community sponsored events in accordance with the Local Department of Social Services (LDSS) specific marketing plans in order to promote GHI HMO business and ensuring appropriate data elements are captured in order to comply with the departments various monthly reporting requirements
Legal Assistant
Following established guidelines, gathers, prepares, summarizes relevant materials for use by attorneys in preparation of opinions, briefs and other legal documents. Summarizes depositions and other transcripts. Maintains case files. Performs simple legal research. Indexes, tracks, and controls exhibits and other materials at depositions and at trial. Assists attorneys in the courtroom. Prepares exhibit cross-references. Screens documents for relevance and privilege according to established guidelines and criteria. Performs initial compilation of documents for production requests, subject to review by supervisors and trial staff work. Performs database searches and retrieves and compile relevant documents for witness binders.
International Research: International Legal Researcher
Research international and US Laws, treaties, conventions and regulations pertinent to international business and intellectual property issues. Prepare research memoranda and legal documents. Research issues involving the Hauge International Convention and any other International treaties related to intellectual property and business law. Liaison with French, German, European and Asian companies (MOJO)
- Legislative Staff Intern
As the focal point of policy development and political activity, state government has become an exciting arena for young people to experience state government first-hand by working as a Legislative Staff Intern with the legislative leaders who will shape public policy for the next decade.
For over 30 years, the Legislative Staff Internship Program (ILSIP) has provided 24 unique internship experiences for keenly interested, deeply motivated and talented individuals to work within state government. The program offers interns a ten and one half month (10.5), full-time position as a professional legislative staff member working with either the Illinois General Assembly or Legislative Research Unit. Interns also participate in an academic seminar conducted by UIS faculty. Interns receive a $2026 monthly stipend, paid health insurance, and textbook allowance for the academic seminar.

International Human Rights Law Group, Washington (DC)
The International Human Rights Law Group is a nonprofit organization of human rights and legal professionals engaged in human rights advocacy, litigation and training around the world. Their mission is to help empower advocates to expand the scope of human rights protection for men and women and to promote broad participation in creating more effective human rights standards and procedures.
Global Policy Forum, New York (NY)
GPF monitors the United Nations and related public policy institutions. Interns can be involved in the following areas: the U.N. Financial Crises, the U.N. Security Council or the U.N. Social and Economic Policy Making as well as NGOs, globalization and global taxes.
- Project Harmony, Waitsfield (VT)
English teacher intern: 1 semester, renewable (with approval from the school) in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Petrozavodsk and other Russian and Ukranian cities. Program is designed to accomodate interns with little previous experience in formal instruction who wish to share their enthusiasm for English in the classroom.
