Must be self-directed and detail-oriented and have excellent writing skills. Must have minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.   • AmeriCorps Victim Assistance Program (AVAP), Concord, NH: Domestic and Sexual Violence Advocates
    AVAP is seeking advocates to assist victims of domestic and sexual violence through civil and criminal proceedings throughout New Hampshire by offering information and support. AVAP advocates also provide crisis intervention, accompaniments and referrals to meet victims' needs outside the courtroom.
  • Center for Reproductive Rights, NY, NY: International Legal Program Assistant
    Carry out administrative and secretarial tasks for the International Legal Program; extensive word processing, editing and fact-checking of papers and reports; drafting, faxing, and mailing of correspondence; assistance with research; handling international travel arrangements; maintaining filing system; assistance with responses to inquiries and maintaining relationships with NGO partners worldwide.

  • National Organization for Women – Interns have the opportunity to research and design fact sheets on a topic, write articles for our bi-monthly newsletter, draft letters to governmental officials, and take on projects of vital importance to NOW-NYC's activism and infrastructure.
  • Alternatives to Marriage Project – Interns assist with research, material writing and design, responding to informational requests from journalists and members of the public.
  • OneWorld - Interns will work with the Managing Editor to find and summarize stories from the global network of over 1600 organizations working in human rights and sustainable development.
  • Nat'l Latina Institute for Reproductive Health --Interns will organize emergency contraception (EC) campaign actions in New York/New Jersey and Chicago; research the political and social climates in future target areas; and develop community partners and organizing Latinas.
  • NARAL Pro-Choice America - The Legal intern will conduct research on the nature of social service programs provided with taxpayer dollars by churches and other religious institutions. The intern will gather information regarding the sources of funding, the services provided, the extent to which the programs incorporate a religious element, and other features of the programs.
