Class of 2007 –Senior Year at a Glance!

Mark your calendars!

Special events that repeat regularly throughout the year:

  • Consult MOJO calendar for all career events including resume collections, off-campus interview days, employer and graduate school visits
  • Attend Employer Information Sessions
  • Attend CSO workshops of interest, including:Resume and Cover Letter Basics, Networking 101, Interviewing Basics, Getting into Grad School, and Do What You Are career assessment
  • Get help with MOJO at Drop-Ins (Wed. 10–5; Mon., Tues., Thurs., Fri. 2-5)
  • Complete four Senior Steps*
  • Lunch with alums at Career Conversations
  • Explore Career Services’ Web site and career library
  • Create a resume and have a Career Services counselor critique it at daily Drop-Ins (Wed. 10–5; Mon., Tues., Thurs., Fri. 2-5)
  • Purchase interview attire and schedule a practice interview with a counselor
  • Make appointment with a counselor to develop a career action plan

*Required to participate in Middlebury Recruiting

SEPTEMBER

All seniors:

  • Attend Winter Term internship information session
  • RSVP for October 7th Career Services’ Careers in the Common Good and Super Saturday luncheon

Seniors who wish to participate in the on- and off-campus interviewing programs:

  • Apply for interviews at the November 3 New York Fall Recruiting Consortium resume collection by September 29

OCTOBER

All seniors:

  • Attend Winter Term internship information session
  • Don’t miss Consulting Week events
  • Don’t miss Education Week events
  • Submit Winter Term internship proposal
  • Attend Careers in the Common Good Symposium and events
  • Attend Super Saturday Simulation
  • RSVP for Etiquette Dinner

Seniors who wish to participate in the on- and off-campus interviewing programs:

  • Apply for interviews at the November 17 Boston Eastern College Career Day by October 13
  • October 4, Cycle One resume collection deadline
  • Beginning of on-campus interviewing

NOVEMBER

All seniors:

  • Attend Etiquette Dinner
  • Explore Career Services’ graduate school timeline
  • Explore postgraduate fellowships and grants

Seniors who wish to participate in the on- and off-campus interviewing programs:

  • Attend employer information sessions
  • November 3, New York Fall Recruiting Consortium Interviews
  • Apply for interviews for the January 12 New York Recruiting Consortium by November 13
  • November 15, Cycle Two resume collection deadline
  • November 17, Boston Eastern College Career Day Off-campus Interviews

DECEMBER

All seniors:
  • If applying to graduate school, take the GRE and necessary subject tests
  • Sign up for Career Services’ Senior Winter Term workshop series

Seniors who wish to participate in the on- and off-campus interviewing programs:

  • December 6, Cycle Three resume collection deadline

JANUARY

All seniors:

  • Go to Career Services’ Senior Winter Term workshop: Finding Meaningful Work

Seniors who wish to participate in the on- and off-campus interviewing programs:

  • Apply for interviews at the February 9 Washington DC Capitol Consortium by January 5
  • January 12 New York Recruiting Consortium Off-campus interviews in New York
  • January 24, Cycle Four resume collection deadline

FEBRUARY

All seniors:

  • Go to spring workshop series
  • Attend the Real Smarts Transitioning to the Real World presentation

Seniors who wish to participate in the on- and off-campus interviewing programs:

  • Apply to New York Eastern College Career Day resume collection by February 7
  • February 9 Washington DC Capitol Consortium off-campus interviews
  • February 21, Cycle Five resume collection deadline

MARCH

All seniors:

  • Attend 5th annual Spring Job Fling
  • Seniors who wish to participate in the on- and off-campus interviewing programs:
  • March 14, Cycle Six resume collection deadline
  • March 23 off-campus interviews in New York

APRIL

Seniors who wish to participate in the on- and off-campus interviewing programs:

  • April 25, Cycle Seven final resume collection deadline

MAY


All seniors:

  • Fill out graduation survey
  • Keep Career Services apprised of your postgraduate career plans

  • Become a MiddNet volunteer!

  • Credentials Files

    Career Services uses Interfolio,an online system that streamlines the process of maintaining and sending references.

    · Employers and graduate schools receive sensitive credentials information such as transcripts (official or unofficial), writing samples, letters of reference (confidential or open), examples of work, awards/certificates/proof of graduation, or other documents from applicants in a secure and convenient way.

    · The process begins when an applicant visits the site and creates an account.

    · Payment can be made by major credit card or other convenient methods

* One of the four Senior Steps required to participate in the on-and-off campus interviewing program.
