JoAnn Brewer joined the staff at Middlebury College in 1988. She has worked in the Office of Academic Support coordinating the peer academic tutoring program, assisting in the development and coordination of the pre-enrollment program and more recently the Project for Integrated Expression. Also as Coordinator of the peer academic tutoring program, JoAnn has continued to develop this educational mentoring program and is responsible for all aspects of its organization, training and scheduling. She works in concert with faculty from all departments on campus to ensure the selected peer tutors are of the highest caliber in their academic area of tutoring. She also provides one-on-one assistance to students for the Office of Leaning Resources and oversees the work of the student staff.
Her dedication to students, her familiarity with both the College Writing Program and the Office of Learning Resources and her superior organizational skills made her a natural choice for the position of Coordinator for the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Research. In this new role she will continue to work closely with the student mentor tutor program and the Office of Learning Resources.
