WE  WANT  YOU TO  APPLY!

********************************************************** Middlebury College’s Environmental Council wants to tap the intellect, talent, imagination and interest of the college community to expand and strengthen our commitment to a sustainable future. Thanks to on-going support from President Ron Liebowitz, the Environmental Council is offering its eighth year of environmental grants.

Sustainability is doing something, big or small, that moves us in the direction of ecological health, economic prosperity, and social benefit. It can be as simple as teaching a child how to garden, as challenging as becoming a "zero-waste" institution or as fun as putting on a "teach-in" to help people learn how to reduce their ecological footprints. We are interested in any projects that will result in a more sustainable campus and community.

Requests can be for as little as $25 or as much as $2,500. Any sustainability related proposal is welcome. Extra weight will be given to proposals that are:

  • collaborative efforts between some combination of students, faculty, and staff;
  • already established, and ready for the next level with additional funding;
  • able to be completed within the current academic year.

Proposals must be from faculty, staff, or students of Middlebury College.
