Welcome to the Middlebury College Organic Garden!
In the fall of 2002 students, faculty, staff and area community members established a small organic garden (Middlebury College Organic Garden, MCOG) within walking distance of the college campus. MCOG is fast becoming an important asset to Middlebury College through environmental excellence, academic involvement and community connections.
MCOG began its 2005 growing season by planting 3/4 acre of mixed vegetables and will focus on good growing practices and an innovative approach rather than sheer quantity. Produce is sold to Middining at market value, while actively avoiding competition with local growers.
Can't make it out to see the garden in person? Check out our blog at www.middgarden.blogspot.com. For the summer journal from 2005, visit Emily Peterson's blog here.
Given the quality and enthusiasm of individuals who have gathered to call for and create this college garden, MCOG will no doubt grow and flourish in years to come. Visit the contacts page and email or call one of them. Get to know them; they are all good people.
Please contact us if you would like to know more or for information about donating time or resources to our project!
