NEW EMPLOYEE ORIENTATION
For new employees who have just been hired. Program covers: Workers’ Compensation,
Violence in the Workplace, Fire Safety, Hazardous Communication Standard, Ergonomics, and Bloodborne Pathogens. Classes are held on the first and third Mondays of the month in the Facilities Conference Room located in the Service Building. Class scheduling is arranged by Human Resources at 5465.

This is an all day class starting at 8:00am. The class is free and open to any faculty, staff or student. Text Books are at cost to attendees. Cost are $14.00 and subject to change.
Checks should be made out to Middlebury College. Classes are held monthly and are for new and re-certifying individuals. The November class will be for child first aid and CPR only. All classes will be held in Mitchell Green Lounge in McCullough.

DEFENSIVE DRIVING
This program is required for anyone who wishes to rent a College passenger or 15-passenger vehicle. There is no cost for the class but a driving orientation (a 1 hour review on the road) is required for 15-passenger Vans and larger vehicles. One class per semester will be conducted in the evening for the convenience of students in November and March (*). These classes are held monthly and will cover all vehicles. Class time is about 2.5 Hrs. Classes will be held in Hepburn Lounge. REMINDER! Hepburn Lounge is a residence hall with access control 24/7. Event attendees must have access card for entry to events.

FIRST/AID/CPR PE CREDIT CLASSES
This is a two day weekend workshop for students wanting one PE credit. The workshop covers:
Day 1, First Aid
- General Principals
- Medical Emergencies
- Injury Emergencies
- Environmental Emergencies
- Overview of AEDs
Day 2, CPR
- This program is Basic Life Support CPR for Adult, Children and Infants.
- You will learn how to maintain an airway, compressions and Foreign Body Airway Obstruction.
ALL CLASSES WILL BE HELD AT Gifford Annex Lounge
The cost for the two day workshop is $60.00. This covers registration, books and all materials. Checks MUST be received at least two week prior to class so books and supplies can be ordered. Checks should be made out to Middlebury College and forwarded to the EH&S Department, Business Services Building. The course is taught by EMTs who are American Heart Association Certified Instructors.

FIRE EXTINGUISHER PRACTICAL TRAINING
This practical hands on training is usually conducted in July. Three sessions are usually planned on a given day between Voter and McCullough. Each session will take about 15 minutes each. More information will be provided in late June. A session is also scheduled for Breadloaf Campus for Dining, Custodial and Grounds staff.
