The Middlebury College Staff Council is a staff employee organization. Its purpose is to make Middlebury College a better place to work for all staff. Elected by the staff, and acknowledged by both the trustees and the administration, its nine members establish priorities and implement planning to carry out those goals and objectives. Other staff employees serve as volunteers on MCSC standing and ad hoc committees.

The MCSC is governed by its constitution. Minutes of its meetings are posted across campus to keep staff employees informed of its activities and committees. MCSC minutes, as well as other MCSC documentation, can be found on the MCSC home page.

MCSC makes appointments or recommendations for appointments to College committees. These include, but are not limited to: Safety Committee, Human Relations Committee, Community Council, Community Judicial Board, Staff Appeals Panel. The MCSC recommends to the College president people to serve as ombudspersons.

The MCSC can be contacted by dialing voicemail (2100), then 2050 and leaving a message. A list of MCSC members can be obtained from the MCSC home page or the Human Resources Office. Members may be contacted directly.
