Works with the Provost, Dean of Faculty, Director of the IS major and the Director of the IP & E major to ensure co-curricular support for the majors within the peak.
Reaches out to colleagues who work in the international arena but are not formally part of the two large majors within the international studies program.
Works closely with the Dean of Faculty Office on co-curricular program communication.
Works closely with the Dean of the Faculty and the Provost on grants and proposals to foundations and donors to support the academic and co-curricular programs related to the international peak.
Chairs the international peak committee, whose major charge is to develop proposals and recommendations to strengthen this peak of excellence such as program/staffing ideas, support for international student organizations, academic/residential life tangents and fundraising ideas/initiative.
Consults with the international peak committee on resource allocations from the Center's budget in support of international-related events (specific events to support the two majors, events to support colleagues who teach and do research on international topics, plus special events, such as conferences and symposia).
Teaches one large lecture course and one seminar (or small course) per year, which equals a 2-0-1 teaching load.
Retains faculty status, and therefore continues to serve on elected committee assignments.
In collaboration with the Assistant Director, oversees the following responsibilities:
Ensures the terms of the College grants received in support of the international studies peak are carried out.
Oversees the Center for International Affairs webpage and newsletter and works with the publications office to ensure accurate/consistent materials that describe the College's international peak and its constituent programs.
