Primary Purpose

The primary responsibility is for planning, rehearsing, and conducting college orchestra concerts throughout the year. This position includes auditioning students to play in the orchestra; overseeing the orchestra budget, the orchestra library, and the instruments owned by the college; evaluating and recruiting prospective students; collaborating with the Director of Choral Activities; and promoting the orchestra within the college and in the community at large. Other roles include involvement in music theater productions and organizing chamber music activities among students.

Responsibilities

Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.

Education & Training

  • Training and demonstrated experience as a conductor, undergraduate bachelor's degree in music or comparable training.
