Primary Purpose |
|
Interviews and evaluates Middlebury College admissions candidates. Answers questions and advises prospective students of procedures and requirements for admission. Coordinates Alumni Admissions Program.
|
Responsibilities |
Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.
* Interviews candidates of admission to Middlebury College.
* Answers candidate's questions and explains admissions procedures.
* Reads through candidate's applications and sits on admissions committee that selects incoming classes.
* Travels to high schools and attends college fairs as a representative of Middlebury College.
* Makes presentations to large groups within the office and while traveling.
* Advises high school guidance counselors regarding candidate applications.
* Provides service and information to alumni chairpersons assisting in the admissions process.
* Writes Alumni Admissions Program quarterly newsletter.
* Updates the Alumni Admissions Program handbook, support materials and publications.
* Recruits Chairperson to lead the committees.
* Recruits new members for committees and maintains membership information.
* Chooses and distributes thank you gifts for the chairpersons.
* Responds to member requests during interview season.
* Helps to select students to be admitted from waiting list, and contacts them upon admission to the College.
* Assists senior admissions counselor with special projects.

Education & Training |
|
Bachelor's degree required. Training in interviewing and presentation skills desired.
|
Experience |
|
No previous admissions experience required.
|
Knowledge |
|
Familiarity with Middlebury College required. Recent Middlebury graduate preferred.
|
Other |
|
Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Computer familiarity. Driver's license required. Some evening and weekend work required.
