Primary Purpose

The Head Wait Staff, a part-time, benefits eligible position, leads and directs bartenders and wait staff during peak service times of Thursday through Saturday nights.

Responsibilities

Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.


  • Assists throughout business hours in one or more of the following areas:
  • Sets up dining area with appropriate table settings.
  • Ensures tables are set according to proper standards.
  • Serves alcoholic beverages, entrees, desserts and coffee as necessary.
  • Clears tables in appropriate manner and in accordance with standards.
  • Supervises table and room setup as needed.
  • Assists in kitchen/beverage areas.
  • Maintains 51 Main website.
  • Attends training sessions.
  • Adheres to dress code.

Education & Training

 

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Must attend Vermont DLC alcohol service workshop.
  • Should be trained in proper service standards and room setup.

Experience

  • 1-2 years of waitstaff experience.
  • Website knowledge is preferred.

    • Must be physically able to lift 10-20 lbs. numerous times each day, and up to 50 lbs. once a day.
    • Able to push and pull up to 100 lbs. frequently.
    • Requires long periods of time standing and frequent walking.
    • Front of house food service experience and working knowledge of DLC rules and regulations.
