Primary Purpose |
|
The Internship Programs Coordinator is a full-time, benefits eligible position, with 37.75 hours/week. This position reports to the Associate Director of Career Services and works closely with the Assistant Director for Internships. The individual in this position coordinates the implementation and development of Career Services' internship programs. This coordination requires significant ongoing communication with employers, alumni, parents and students, including the development of targeted approaches to students and solicitations to alumni/parents for the programs listed below with the goal of expanding student participation and alumni offerings:
- Sophomore Externships
- Winter Term Internships
- Middlebury-only Internships and Liberal Arts Career Network(LACN) internships
- Recruited-for Internships
- Current and future College-funded internship programs (Ron Brown, Digel, Nature Conservancy, Mahoney, Kutzner, New Millennium, Middlebury Arts Council, etc.)

Responsibilities |
Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.
- Management of the Sophomore Externship program
- Designing and implementing tracking and reporting systems related to the above programs
- Development of regular mass communications targeting students according to identified areas of career interests
- Generating and responding to correspondence with students, faculty, alumni, and staff related to internship programs and events
- Initiating and following up on written and telephone outreach to alumni regarding internship development
- Management of information related to Internships and Career Development on the Career Services Web site.
- Producing reports that provide current and comparative statistics related to participation in the above internship programs.
- Communicating with on-campus constituents and departments, i.e., Alumni and Parent Programs, College Advancement, Faculty
- Provide additional administrative support as needed

Education & Training |
- College degree or equivalent experience in undergraduate career programs preferred.
|
Experience |
- Experience in coordinating materials for professional programs highly desirable.
- Excellent computer skills (PC) and familiarity with Microsoft Office required.
- Familiarity with Access, CMS, InDesign preferred.
|
Knowledge |
- Excellent writing skills and English mastery required, including ability to write and graphically design newsletters and other communiqué (electronic and hard copy).
|
Other |
- As this position interacts with external employers, alumni and parents as well as faculty, administrators and students, strong customer-service orientation and professional demeanor are essential.
- Must have strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to work on and coordinate several projects at once.
- Must be able to work independently, yet also as a team player with a desire to work in and contribute to a collaborative environment.
